A. Benedetti grew up in the Pacific Northwest and currently resides in the greater Portland, Oregon area. Writing became a passion after winning a writing contest at the age of twelve. However, her career path took a different turn when first entering the workforce. As a single mother, she provided for her family by working as a receptionist and secretary for several years. The drive to make a difference every day led to leaving office administration behind and exploring a profession in emergency services. Becoming a 911 operator proved to be a perfect fit.
Eighteen years later, A. Benedetti continues to help countless people experiencing the worst day of their lives. Although an often forgotten link in the chain of emergency response, A. Benedetti has been the recipient of the Outstanding Service Awards for the years 2005, 2009 and 2011, Lifesaving Award 2010, Employee Excellence Award for Heroism 2012, Chief Challenge Coin Award 2014, and Code Save Award 2014.
A love of books combined with tales of everyday people accomplishing amazing things inspires A. Benedetti’s writing. She explains her passion for writing fiction here.
When not writing, A. Benedetti travels as much as possible. With a focus on meeting new people and experiencing new cultures, she hopes to someday cover the globe, both above and below water. Scuba diving became a passion several years ago and a dive trip is almost always included in her travels.
